Jobs For Blind People Working With Animals

Does anyone work with animals? I'd really love to work with horses eventually, but people keep saying that it would be better if I was working in an office writing about. That would mean that I wouldn't get much contact with the animals and they say that an employer will have to pay two people's wages because someone's got to be with me all the time. I don't really understand why, because if I did something like grooming I can do that pretty much on my own and when I did my last work experience with horses, the person who was with me was only helping because she was bored of standing around doing nothing. As my grandad said at the weekend, he's sure I'm not the only blind person who's ever wanted to work with horses or any animals.

tell those people that want you to work in an office to jump in the crick!
If you want to work with horses, work with horses. It sounds like you know what your doing and no, of course, you wouldn't need another person there all the time.
are they crazy. again, work with horses!

Go for it. If you know what you're doing, then ignore everyone who's telling you to "work in an office".

My connexions advisor said she's going to get a job description of a stable hand and next holiday, we're going to look at it and see how much of the job I can do on my own. I don't really mind if the horses stand on me, because they do. I'll probably only need a bit of guiding, because I can do all the grooming on my own.
